Volunteers Deliver Over 6,500 Food Care Packages from OMK and OMK-Uchastiye Foundation to Residents in Nizhniy Novgorod Region

The United Metallurgical Company (AO OMK, Moscow) and the OMK-Uchastiye Charity Foundation have partnered with the local executive, the public social protective services, and the Vyksa Diocese to deliver over 6,500 food care packages to residents in the Vyksa Municipal District (Nizhniy Novgorod Region) finding themselves in difficult circumstances during the voluntary confinement and quarantine. This is equivalent to over 75 tons of food.

Aid was delivered to 12,000 people: orphaned seniors and residents with mobility issues, Vyksa's low income families and families with many children, including those with children aged between 16 and 18, people that lost their jobs and sources of income.

"Over 100 volunteers and other people involved in our activities are doing what they can to provide residents in difficult circumstances with essential foodstuffs and personal protection items. The total amount of aid already exceeds 6,000,000 rubles and includes funds coming into a special account to support those hurt by the events. The amount donated is 1 357 000 rubles. We thank everyone for their assistance and their willingness to help. We understand the pandemic continues although the quarantine has been lifted. That is why we never stop and will continue supporting all those that are forced by circumstances to ask us for help", noted OMK-Uchastiye Charity Foundation General Manager Yulia Mishina.
