OMK's Belgorod Facility Manufactures Tubular Frame for Rzhev Unknown Soldier Memorial

The Belgorod Power Engineering Plant (OOO Belenergomash-BZEM, Belgorod, a United Metallurgical Company (AO OMK, Moscow) subsidiary) has manufactured a tubular frame for the centerpiece of the Rzhev Soviet Soldier Memorial that was inaugurated by President Vladimir Putin of Russia and President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus on June 30. This event was one of the key ceremonies to celebrate the 75-th Anniversary of Russia's victory in World War II.

The primary difficulty of the project stemmed from the architect's strict requirements precluding the use of assembly welding. This required that some elements of the structure be oversize and require special transportation arrangements. The monument frame was delivered to the construction site in the Tver Region in November 2019. The quality of the structure made by Belenergomash and completely trouble-free assembly were much praised by the customer.

"Our team is extremely proud to have been given the opportunity to become involved in this national, not to say community, project. The project was indeed complex and technically challenging but out manufacturing capability, experience, and employee professionalism helped complete the task with excellent grades. We will always remember the price paid by our forefathers and liberators for this victory, and we strive to be worthy of their memory and heroism", noted OOO Belenergomash-BZEM General Manager Alexander Vashchenko.
