Chair of OMK Board of Directors Anatoly Sedykh Recognized with Gold Medal for Charity

Chair of the United Metallurgical Company (AO OMK, Moscow) Board of Directors Anatoly Sedykh has been awarded the Gold Medal "Charity Champion of the Land of Nizhniy Novgorod" for many years of diverse good deeds in the Nizhniy Novgorod Region and a significant personal contribution to the region's social and cultural development.

A solemn presentation ceremony was held in Nizhniy Novgorod on February 5, 2018. It was attended by Acting Nizhniy Novgorod Regional Governor Evgeny Liulin and Regional Legislative Assembly Chair Evgeny Lebedev It was noted that under Anatoly Sedykh's leadership, OMK was investing significant amounts of money into improving the social environment in the Nizhniy Novgorod Region's Vyksa Municipal District.

OMK's principal areas of social investment include education, mass sports, culture and art, children's and youth programs, and improving the urban environment in the Vyksa Municipal District. In 2017, OMK spent over 1 billion rubles making this happen.

Some good examples of OMK's socially minded approach include a number of systemic charity programs designed to address urgent social issues in Vyksa, the annual Art-Ovrag Urban Culture Festival that helps expand the monocity's comfortable urban environment and make it increasingly attractive to tourists.

Also, most of the Company's employees are volunteers and charity givers while developing volunteerism is an important component of the Company's corporate culture. It was also noted that Anatoly Sedykh led by example and was involved in the OMK-Uchastiye Foundation's charity events which helps promote charity. Over 10 years, the Foundation has helped over 1,200 families in difficult life circumstances.

Background

The "Charity Champion of the Land of Nizhniy Novgorod" medal is awarded for many years of charitable activities in the Nizhniy Novgorod Region and a significant contribution to developing and supporting centrally and municipally owned social and cultural facilities (health care, educational, social protection, cultural, art, sports, and others), socially minded non-profits, children's, performing, and other groups. The "Charity Champion of the Land of Nizhniy Novgorod" medal is Nizhniy Novgorod Region's highest honor for contributing to the Region's social environment.
