The Trubodetal Facility (AO Trubodetal, Chelyabinsk, a United Metallurgical Company (AO OMK, Moscow) subsidiary) was honored with the city's highest award (the Priznaniye Prize) for being active in charity in 2017.
The solemn ceremony was held on Thursday, February 1. Trubodetal Managing Director Dmitri Markov received the prize from Chelyabinsk Region Human Rights Ombudswoman Margarita Pavlova. Accomplishments recognized by members of the collegiate panel included holding the OMK Partnership competition for grants that helped implement 15 social projects, co-financing repairs to the stadium in the Township of Novosineglazovsky as well as organizing other charity events.
"The Priznaniye Prize is a unique event for Chelyabinsk. It is the 12th time we have been reviewing the social and political outcomes for the year, and today we are adding another six of the city's most worthy contributing to Chelyabinsk's development and prosperity", noted Chelyabinsk Chief Executive Officer Evgeny Teftelev.
"I believe that both getting and presenting this award is a great joy for everyone that has anything to do today with this event of great import for the city. Essentially, happiness is when your family, the people around you, and society in general needs you. We are continuously stepping up our involvement in the life of the community not only financially but also in the form of employees' personal contributions, those of our partners, and non-profits", commented AO Trubodetal's Managing Director Dmitri Markov.
The Priznaniye Prize is an annual highest public honor instituted in 2006. Its objective is recognition of socially significant contributions by companies, entities, natural persons and officials designed to improve the quality of life for the city's residents, to expand mutually beneficial collaboration between local authorities and businesses as well as to support charity. The Priznaniye Prize was instituted at the initiative of the Chelyabinsk City Duma and the Chelyabinsk City Government.
