In 2018, Vyksa Steel Works (AO VSW, Nizhniy Novgorod Region, an OMK Group Company) received a recognition award from the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE) for accomplishments in employee health and safety.
The award presentation ceremony was held on February 7, 2018 at the Social Forum that is part of the Program of the annual Russian Business Week in Moscow. Vyksa Steel Work's badge of honor for accomplishments in employee health and safety was presented to OMK Governance Board Chair Natalya Eremina by Russian Federation Deputy Prime-Minister Olga Golodets and RUIE President Alexander Shokhin.
RUIE experts recognized VSW efforts in employee health and safety as a 2017 Russian industry best practice. As a result, the facility was able considerably to reduce the number of job-related injuries and the occupational morbidity rate. Experts also gave excellent grades to the VSW employee health rehabilitation program and the promotion of a healthy way of life among the facility's employees. VSW mounted an efficient effort to have employees undergo preventive physicals and to prevent employee morbidity, to make available to employees year-round health resort rehabilitation and vacations for employees and their children. In 2017, VSW spent a total of RUB 28 million to offer its employees health care benefits.
