OMK and OMK Uchastiye Foundation Hold Inclusive Charity Event in Nikulin Circus, Tsvetnoy Boulevard, Moscow

In anticipation of the New Year holidays, OMK Uchastiye invited its friends and charges to a premiere for the 17th time in a row.

Over 2,000 spectators came to the circus in the Tsvetnoy Boulevard on December 21: OMK employees with families, Foundation and OMK partners, children from low-income families and families with many children, disabled persons, little patients from the Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Research Institute within the N. N Blokhin National Cancer Research Center system. The Foundation's idea was to get people from different parts of the country together during the holiday season and again to highlight the issues related to developing a tolerant attitude and to creating an accessible environment for all people.

As is customary, OMK employees and students from the MISiS National Technology University served as volunteers at the inclusive event. Invitees included the Piano Theater of Hearing-Impaired Child Performers from Nizhniy Novgorod. The kids from Nizhniy Novgorod together with performers from Moscow put on an inspiring show in the foyer creating a festive atmosphere for all the guests. They also went into the arena of the Nikulin Circus together with Foundation employees and presented a short interactive performance in which they taught the audience to sign "Love lives in my heart" in the Russian Sign Language.

In the performance presented by circus performers, the spectators saw numbers by trapeze artists, acrobats, trained animals, and received season's greetings from Santa Claus and his granddaughter, the Snow Maiden.

OMK-Uchastiye raised a total of over RUB 1,147,000 at the event. These funds will be used to offer targeted aid to families in difficult circumstances.

"The Foundation has a number of ongoing programs designed to provide equal opportunity in culture and education to all people. During the event at the Nikulin Circus, we emphasized the development of a tolerant attitude with respect to people with different physical abilities. The circus performance is a traditionally memorable and joyful event for all guests without exception. But the most important thing is remembering that the heart is the home of love, and love is to be cherished, grown, and given as a gift to others", noted OMK-Uchastiye Charity Foundation Supervisory Board Chair Irina Sedykh.
