On Saturday, December 22, the OMK-Uchastiye Charity Foundation for the 16th year in a row held a New Year Show at the Moscow Nikulin Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard for some of its charges.
The New Year inclusive event brought together over 2,000 attendees. The event’s special guests included children from low-income families and families with multiple children, the Foundation's clients from Vyksa (Nizhniy Novgorod Region), wards of the Pelican Social Rehabilitation Center, disabled children, and children finding themselves in difficult circumstances, patients at the Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Research Institute under the N. N. Blokhin National Cancer Research Center, families from the United Metallurgical Company's (AO OMK, Moscow) areas of operations as well as the children of OMK employees.
OMK-Uchastiye volunteers and OMK employees held master classes for the children showing them how to make Christmas tree decorations. The children interacted with party entertainers, had their picture taken next to a Christmas tree, and were treated to some ice cream.
Prior to the start of the show, the Foundation brought little volunteers - United Metallurgical Company and Metallinvestbank employees’ children - out onto the circus’ arena to present them. They told a fairy tale of love, care, and miracles. In the fairly tale entitled “Looking for Celebration”, the spectators saw numbers by trapeze artists, acrobats, magicians as well as trained animals and birds and received season's greetings from Santa Claus and his granddaughter, the Snow Maiden.
OMK-Uchastiye raised a total of over RUB 1,275,000 at the event. This money will be used to offer targeted aid to families.
“On the eve of the wonderful holiday season, everyone wants to travel down memory lane to his or her own childhood, live a little, celebrate winter and the holidays, forget one's problems, difficulties, and offer one another best wishes. That is why every year, we get together at Moscow's Nikulin Circus. The children’s faces are alight with smiles, and joy in the eyes of the grown-ups is also very nice to see. I am convinced that we will celebrate many more New Years with this wonderful event”, noted OMK-Uchastiye Charity Foundation Supervisory Board Chair Irina Sedykh.
