Trubodetal Successfully Completes American Petroleum Institute Re-Certification

The Trubodetal Manufacturing Facility (AO Trubodetal, Chelyabinsk, a United Metallurgical Company (AO OMK, Moscow) Subsidiary) completed a re-certification audit administered by the American Petroleum Institute (API).

Auditors from an international certification authority in the Czech Republic verified the facility's quality management system for compliance with API Specification Q1, 9th Edition, and ISO 9001:2015. The entire process sequence for the manufacture of pipeline fittings and assemblies, from feedstock and material procurement to finished product storage, was targeted during the audit, including fittings and assemblies with a protective coating. The quality management system as it applies to production management and the manufacturing process, material tracking and facility document management earned high grades from API experts.

"Regular certification audits help the facility improve its manufacturing processes. High grades from industry experts re-confirm that the quality management system meets the strictest international standards while the product the facility manufactures fully meets our customers' requirements", noted Managing Director Dmitri Markov.

The Trubodetal facility obtained its previous American Petroleum Institute certification in 2015, thereafter re-confirming compliance with standards on an annual basis. The certificate expires this year requiring the facility to undergo re-certification.

API (American Petroleum Institute) is a major US non-government association in the oil and gas sector that represents the interests of entities in Government and regulatory agencies, develops and implements standards, and conducts oil and gas research.
