Vyksa Steel Works (AO VSW, Nizhniy Novgorod Region, a United Metallurgical Company (AO OMK, Moscow) subsidiary) is proceeding with upgrades to its coupling stock, oil and gas line pipe, and casing heat treatment line. The amount invested is in excess of RUB 130,000,000.
As part of the project, VSW has started treating new sizes of coupling stock the need for which arose with the commissioning of the finishing facility for casing and the acquisition of capability for new products. The upgraded line also helped increase the speed of the pipe quenching operation and assure uniform cooling which, in turn, improves the quality of the tubulars.
"This upgrade to the heat treat line will enable OMK to expand its offering of improved-strength casing couplings, make the equipment more reliable, and increase productivity. Thanks to this, we will be able to offer the oil and gas leaders, we have partnered with, casing of various sizes with improved properties while meeting their most stringent quality requirements”, noted AO VSW Managing Director Alexander Barykov.
