The Trubodetal Manufacturing Facility (AO Trubodetal, Chelyabinsk, a United Metallurgical Company (AO OMK, Moscow) Subsidiary) successfully completed a second annual observation audit by the American Petroleum Institute (API).
Based on the audit, the facility confirmed that its quality management system (QMS) is compliant with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 international standard and the new version of API Spec Q1, 9th Edition, which contains supplemental requirements to facility QMS systems in the oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors.
The facility was audited by certified representatives of API Energy. The auditors inspected all the principal organizations within the facility, reviewed the processes for the design, development, and manufacture of pipeline fittings and assemblies as well as the quality policy. They also reviewed contracts and customer feedback, evaluated the processes for welding, hot stamping, induction bending, heat treatment, corrosion coating application, non-destructive testing, and material incoming inspection, maintenance planning, product warehousing, risk management as well as personnel competencies.
The auditors noted the high degree of personnel engagement in the product quality management process and compliance of the principal QMS processes with API Spec Q1 requirements.
"The positive feedback from the API auditors is evidence that the facility continues to maintain and develop its quality management system and manufacturing processes as required by international standards. This helps create a good foundation for increasing international sales", noted Trubodetal Managing Director Evgeniy Baranov.
