VSW Sets 6-Year Record for Train Wheel Production in First Six Months of the Year

In the first six months of 2018, Vyksa Steel Works (AO VSW, Nizhniy Novgorod Region, a United Metallurgical Company (AO OMK, Moscow) Subsidiary) produced over 425,000 train wheels.

The increased train wheel output is a response to an increase in demand, including orders from the principal customer OAO Russian Railways as well as the result of the Ukrainian manufacturer no longer being allowed to engage in unfair practices in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) markets. In January through June 2018, VSW was able to meet the needs of EAEU train car construction and repair facilities to the largest possible extent, including deliveries under long-term undertakings.

“The manufacturing capabilities of Vyksa Steel Works enable it quickly to respond to changes in market conditions. Due to increased manufacturing efficiencies and improved logistics, we are able to supply our customers with enough product of appropriate quality even when faced with the highest levels of demand”, commented AO VSW Managing Director Alexander Barykov.
