On Saturday 2, 2017, 80 employees of the OMK-Uchastiye Charity Foundation, the United Metallurgical Company (AO OMK, Moscow), and the Metal Procurement and Sales Magazine, MISiS National University of Engineering and Technology students, students of Medical College No. 1, alumni of the Moscow State University of International Relations and the Moscow State University, and socially active residents of Moscow decorated the wards and the inner courtyard of the N. N. Blokhin Cancer Center in Moscow. The volunteers offered their season's greetings to its young patients and gave them gifts as part of the annual Donate a Christmas Tree drive.

The Foundation's initiative was supported by stars Irina Pegova and Anatoly Bely that read Christmas poetry to the children as well as stories by Fedor Dostoyevsky, Alexander Kuprin, and other authors. They also talked, handed out autographs, and took pictures with anybody who was willing.

In addition, OMK-Uchastiye will hold a theater festival in the children's ward between December 4 and 8. Performances will be staged by the V. Meyerhold Center, the SNARK Theater, the Trained Bear Folk Puppet Theater, the Russian Marionette Theater. The Figaro Puppet Theater, the Cedar Animation Studio, and Alexandra Ageeva (Iyulensemble Theater) will hold master classes in specific subjects. The children will learn theater masks, play pieces with puppets, and draw theater posters.

"We are happy to hold the usual holiday season drive at the cancer center. For all of us, it is an opportunity to make gifts of warmth, kindness, and good spirits to the children being treated here and their parents. Performances, plays, and master classes will distract them from problems, give them strength to combat disease and overcome challenges related to the treatment", noted OMK-Uchastiye Charity Foundation Supervisory Board Chair Irina Sedykh.
