The United Metallurgical Company (AO OMK, Moscow) is proceeding with an integrated facility upgrade and revamping program for casing, tubing, and line pipe production facilities at Vyksa Steel Works (AO VSW, Nizhniy Novgorod Region, an OMK Company).
The program includes a complete revamping of existing casing production, an increase in coupling capacity, and an upgrade of associated facilities as well as an expansion of the existing capacity for line pipe and an addition of weather coating and inside anti-corrosion coating equipment for small and medium-sized pipes.
A total of over RUB 40 billion has been earmarked for the program over the course of several years, including RUB 12 billion pursuant to a collaboration agreement signed between the Government of the Nizhniy Novgorod Region and VSW in March 2016.
OMK is already proceeding in Vyksa's Industrial Area with the construction of a high-tech finishing facility for casing for the Russian oil and gas sector and premium coupling thread as well as a new line pipe, casing, and tubing mill and finishing facility to produce pipes for Russian market.
