Trubodetal's 2016 benefit from employee-proposed process improvements exceeds RUB 14,600,000

The Trubodetal Manufacturing Facility (AO Trubodetal, Chelyabinsk, a United Metallurgical Company (AO OMK, Moscow) Subsidiary) has announced its 2016 results for employee-proposed process improvements. Some 1,700 employee-proposed improvements have been implemented at the facility with the total economic benefit in excess of RUB 14.6 million.

Just under half (42%) of these have to do with manufacturing technology improvements. The number of improvements in relation to the number of employees remained at the 2015 level while the economic benefit increased RUB 3.6 million. The number of facility employees involved in process improvement rose 25%.

"Innovation directly affects convenience in the workplace and the effectiveness of all functions while improving the product manufacturing process. Where a few years ago employee suggestions mostly had to do with general working conditions, these days, there are many more suggestions regarding the manufacturing process which, in turn, helps improve product quality", noted Trubodetal Managing Director Dmitri Markov.
