Zapolyar'e-Purpe

This is Russia’s northernmost oil pipeline. The route runs along the Yamal Nenets Autonomous District in the Tyumen Region for a total of 488 km. Its planned capacity is 45 million tons per year. OMK is only Russian pipe supplier for this oil pipeline.

OMK role in the project
Experts at our Vyksa plant have made a considerable research and development effort. This made is possible to produce support pipes with a special coating which is extra durable to extreme climatic conditions in which the oil pipeline is going to operate. In total OMK has produced around 60 000 tons of pipes (diameter — up to 426 mm, wall thickness — up to 12 mm).

Purpose
The pipeline is necessary for connecting new oil extraction regions in the Yamal Nenets Autonomous District and the northern part of Krasnoyarsk Territory to Transneft’s main oil pipeline system, the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil pipeline.
